Katie’s & Chris’Story

It is with a heavy heart I write this back story of why we are raising funds.

Our beautiful mother was diagnosed with ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas with liver spread also involving the lymph nodes. On paper any one would think she’s going to die, and that’s exactly what we’ve been told in the UK. However by the grace of god we have been given the opportunity to see a Professor in Germany who is happy to treat our mum!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽

The therapy is called TACE - Trans arterial chemoembolization, what this basically means is the chemotherapy is given directly into the affected organs at 10x the strength of chemotherapy in the UK which affects all the body not just the areas the cancer is in.

As you can imagine this type of treatment is costly. With travel, treatment and drugs the last visit came to £6000.

As a family we have given everything we have into this to keep my mum’s life going. Without the treatment she has 4 months to live with the treatment they’ve said she could go on to live 20+ years. That’s how vital the treatment is, I don’t know anyone that wouldn’t give all they have to keep a loved one with them for as long as they can.

Unfortunately we need support in order for my mum to have the full treatment. We have this just giving page, a fundraiser night and a raffle organised. We would appreciate anything anyone can give to help. We’re so grateful for everyone’s support so far.

Our world has been crushed. As in most families, mothers hold it all together, she’s our Queen, the one who knows all the answers and she would give anything to everyone. The most selfless, supportive and caring woman to all. Anyone who’s ever met my mum, doesn’t forget her influence on their life.

This is very unfamiliar to me, I’m a true Brit and never ask anyone for money, but we’re desperate. This is literally between life and death.

So anything anyone can provide we will be so grateful ❤️
