Story

This coming December I will be travelling to Nepal with 'The Green Program' to install solar panels in a rural village. In 2015, following a large earthquake, Nepal lost 30% of their power infrastructure, leaving the nation eager to introduce more alternative, clean, energy sources to recover from this energy crisis.

With the effects of climate change becoming increasingly apparent, the need for global change, especially within the energy sector, is becoming more and more urgent. It is programs like these which will allow continuous progression towards sustainable development, and hence, preservation of natural wonders such as the Himalayas.

During my trip, I will spend some time in Kathmandu University studying micro systems design, and will then travel to remote villages to plan and install off-grid solar fields. This power will provide energy for at least 400 Nepalese students.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will certainly allow significant changes to be made to both the state of the environment and the living conditions in rural Nepal.

Diolch yn fawr :)
