Sadly my lovely dad lost his battle with this cruel disease on the 22nd January. I will now be running in his memory and all money raised will be going to a very important charity, the insulinoma charity. Insulinomas are rare functional tumors that produce insulin and cause hypoglycaemias, completely taking away a persons quality of life. Despite this My dad was so extremely brave and never let the disease define him or stop him loving life. He fought so hard throughout this journey and was a true inspiration to all.

It’s safe to say this is not going to be the run I had planned and training hasn’t gone quite as well as I would have liked but I am determined to cross that finish line. All donations however big or small would mean so much to me and are going to such an important cause, in order to help those suffering from this awful disease and their families. Xxxx

On the 6th April 2025 I am running the London Landmarks Half marathon, not only is this a challenge for myself but more importantly to raise important funds to support my dads cancer treatment. My dad was diagnosed with a rare stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer in August 2022. It has metastasised to his liver and he has been informed that this is incurable and inoperable but can be treated with conventional medicines.

He is undertaking ongoing treatment aswell as treatments in Germany that aren’t available on the NHS . He is also taking a complimentary approach, which has had a detrimental impact on income. In order to continue with these treatments, he will require additional funding to give him the best possible chance at beating the cancer and prolonging his life. My dad still has so much to do and he is determined to continue watching his three children grow up as well as completing all the Lakeland fells known as the wainwrights.
