Story

My name is Katie and I’m 13. I’ve been selected as 1 of 4 Scouts to represent North Watford at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia USA in 2019. I will be joining 45,000 Scouts from over 150 countries and the theme of the Jamboree is Peace-Friendship-Adventure.

Over the next 18 months I will be attending a number of training weekends with 36 other Scouts from across Hertfordshire to learn the skills we will need in preparation for the Jamboree, such as team building and demonstrating our culture to Scouts from across the world.

In order to make it accessible to all Scouts, including those from developing nations, countries like the UK pay more per person to subsidise others.

To make all this happen, as well as Group Fundraising with the Unit, I personally need to raise £2,270 by June 2019 and that’s where I’m hoping you can help.

I have already started fundraising and will be doing everything from bag packing to a sponsored silence, cake stalls at carnivals, quiz nights and raffles.

If you are able to help with a donation I would be really grateful. Any donation, however small, will take me one step closer to West Virginia.

Thank you
