Story

We have decided to walk 500,000 steps in the month of March AND walk the 23 mile Glasgow Kiltwalk in April to raise money for SupportED. SupportED Scotland provides valuable support to those across the UK with eating disorders, their families and carers. The charity plays a vital role in raising awareness of eating disorders and provides practical support to help aid recovery.

Eating disorders are serious, complex mental illnesses affecting over 1.25 million people in the UK and have the highest mortality rate of any mental health condition. Despite this, they remain under-researched and under-funded. Since COVID-19, cases in Scotland have risen sharply, with hospital admissions for eating disorders increasing by 86% between 2019 and 2021 alone.

Katie’s Story

I wanted to take a moment to share something close to my heart. For the past few years, I’ve been battling bulimia, and last year was particularly tough. It’s been a challenging journey, but with the support from my best friend/roommate Robyn and the people from Support ED I’m finally turning a corner, focusing on nourishing my body and mind. 🧘‍♀️☺️

With the incredible support from

Robyn, I’m excited to announce that we’re taking on the challenge of walking 500,000 steps each this March as well as participating in the Glasgow Kiltwalk in April 🥾. Every step we take is not just for our health, but to raise money for the amazing charity SupportED that is dedicated to supporting those affected by eating disorders. ❤️

Your support means the world to us! If you’re able, please consider donating to our Just giving page to help make a difference in the lives of others who are struggling. Together, we can promote awareness and provide the necessary resources to those in need. 🙏🏻

Let’s keep pushing each other to be stronger and healthier! 💪🏻💖

Robyn’s Story

Over the last year I have seen first hand how valuable support from charities like this can be. My friend Katie has bravely fought and began recovery from an eating disorder and I have supported from the sidelines through many highs and lows. I have seen firsthand how poor the mental health services are in this country, how difficult it is to be heard and how deflating it can be when you are brushed off. I have seen someone at some of the lowest points of their life, but with the desire to find a way to keep fighting. On the hardest days it seemed almost impossible but Katie has shown that anything is possible, if you want it and you try.
