My name is Katy MacKay and I am an S6 pupil at Gleniffer High School who has been lucky enough to be selected to travel to Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world, to work with the charity 'Classrooms for Malawi'.

Gleniffer High has close links with Dzenza Primary School, and over the last few years has helped to significantly improve the learning environment for many of the pupils there. During our expedition we will be involved in refurbishing and decorating classrooms, and continuing to support and develop the strong links that have already been established. Most Importantly, we aim to continue to enable and improve the learning of the young people at Dzenza Primary School. At the moment we are fundraising within our team to raise money to pay for the refurbishment of the classrooms. However, I also have to self fundraise to support my personal travel expenses.

In order to raise some of the money, my dad and I have decided to take on the 'Pedal for Scotland Classic Cycling Challenge' from Glasgow to Edinburgh, on Sunday 10th September. If you feel you could donate and spionsor me in this venture, I would be very grateful.
