Story

The illusion of wealth is more valuable than the concept of being rich.

It was the contradiction of ambiguous branding that led me to have the idea for The Traditionalists: A satirical account from the perspective of a twisted orchestral venue owner, documenting the financial maneuvering and underground powerplay that oversees the fall of capitalism at the time of the mysterious nationwide appearance of a mysterious symbol, the meaning of which is down to those who's lives are affected by its ever more relevent subjective representation and resultingly become embroiled in a moral conflict of business regulation and a search for pre-positioned truth.

"It (the logo) united people under a statement of free will, to choose and feel universally content with a shared respect that belief and death is all we have in common.”

"It is one of man’s great addictions, derived from boredom or dissatisfaction, to over indulge the need to expand the amount of variables involved in a set of circumstances in order to make situations more volatile, giving the often belated justification; the ambition of stability within chaos. It is this measurable complexity complex that refrains me from using my capacity to remember details and advance upon the irony of such motivated compulsions, quickly to forget at such a climactic crux. It must have bored my companion terribly, though my drive is never propelled by any pandering gifted automation rather an arousal to branch upon points of unspeakable commercial doubt."

"One can live comfortably in the prizes of luxury but more so in the eternity of honour."

Characters:

Serge- After the disappearance of his mother on the day he first set eyes on the 'logo', he gets work as a drug dealer to finance a tracking specialist in hopes of finding her, his pursuit of truth embroiling him as vital cog into the very conspiracy of national analytics.

Gregario- 'Son of Keith' this archaic technologically skilled knight battles with his loneliness and obesity forming a tight brotherhood with Serge and the secret collective of the Fellows.

The Poet Laureate- Commissioned by the corrupt government to lyrically document the public's reactions to the 'logo' and falls prey to his own hedonism and rebellious sensibilities.

Tony Nicholson-Tate- An enforced terrorist who works at the job centre with a heart of gold but susceptible humanitarian judgement.

The Seamstress- An isolated dressmaker with a puppeteered god-complex. She works entirely in the dark on an improvised garment of certain distinction.

Marie- Serge's mother who lays the path of her son's future business affairs from the safe distance of absence.

The Prime Minister & His Aid- A relationship of perverse powerplay and hypnosis.

Ellis Mercer- A soldier who foresees the impending breakdown of society and tries to protect the ones he loves from the suspicious activities of the military.

Jackie Dragon- A whimsical old witch with lost faith.

The Banker- More than just that.
