My amazing mum got diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s (a particularly vicious form of dementia) back in 2014. She fought the illness so hard but unfortunately it took her over and she moved into a care home in 2017 when it became clear we couldn’t look after her at home anymore.

Mum has always been my best friend, and the best mum you could ever imagine, so I wanted to do something for her and for the incredible person she was.

When I was younger she would help me practice singing for school concerts etc for hours on end - the poor woman must have heard me sing “My Heart Will Go On” 100+ times!! Music was always our thing so I decided to write and release a song for her and to raise money for some amazing Alzheimer’s charities at the same time in the hope one day they can prevent anyone else going through the heartache my dad, brother and myself have gone through.

The song I’ve written is called “Always Been By Your Side” and it will be raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK Alzheimer's Society and Westgate House in Gayton where my mum currently lives. It was released on August 23rd 2019 and with that and fundraising events, we‘re hoping to raise as much as possible for the charities.
