I am a single Mother determined to use my knowledge & passion of science to make a difference to people lives within the field of Herbal Medicine. After facing many obstacles (including all those late nights crushing herbs!) My light bulb moment was when I found some herbs in the Tibb ecyclopedias that had either become extinct or had negative side effects previously unknown. I had at that precise moment discovered that herbal medicine as taught by Ibn Sinna had become outdated and is in dire need of modernisation.

Having studied islamic herbal medicine for 4 years under the guidance of a Hakim connected with (Isnad) a chain of transmission back to Ibn Sinna (Avicenna) and treating a number of patients successfully;I have felt the need to further my research. Utilising modern scientifict methodolgies coupled with the latest advancements in plant phyto chemistry; I intend to reform and develop Islamic herbal medicine in light of new knowledge; as Ibn sinna did, when he took the knowledge of herbal medicine from the Greeks and transformed it over 1000 years ago to the Tibb that we practise it today.

I would like to ask my friends and family or anyone who is willing to donate and help a fellow practitioner to develop within the field to complete a MSc in Medicinal Natural Products and Phytochemistry. Tuition fees are something most people in todays society struggle with however I believe if the right amount of people came together to aide a cause which would benefit the health of our future generations, I could achieve my target.This is a taught masters and I would have to finance my study I am currently working in Bradford as a Science Supply Teacher to support myself and my two daughters; Zahabia (aged 13) and Zunairah (aged 10) and would need financial help to live and study in London UCL.
