Why I’m raising money...

At the end of April I’ll be running the Blackpool Marathon, and I’ve decided to take on the challenge to raise money for two charities that mean a great deal to me.

As a celebrant, I sometimes support families through the most difficult moments of their lives. Because of this, I’ve chosen to support the Child Funeral Charity, which provides financial help to families who are facing the unimaginable loss of a child. A friend of mine sadly lost their little girl last year and the support they received from this charity made a real difference at an incredibly hard time.

I’m also raising money for The Christie Charity, where a brave two-year-old girl from our local community is currently receiving treatment for an aggressive form of cancer. Seeing the strength of such a young child and her family has been truly inspiring.

Training for this marathon has been a big personal challenge since October, but if it helps raise money for these two important causes then every mile will be worth it.
