Story

Dad and I are challenging ourself to complete the Glasgow Kiltwalk on 30th April this year, we are doing the Mighty Stride which is 23 miles.

All money raised will go directly to Wigtownshire Women & Cancer which is a non-profit voluntary group, whose aim it is to support as many people in our community as possible, not just women, but men and children too. Every penny raised for WWAC is used to help people in Wigtownshire, and will be used to help someone who is or has recently been diagnosed with cancer, which can be one of the most stressful and distressing times in a person’s life.

WWAC supports both individuals and families in a diverse way: such as raising awareness, bringing services closer to or more accessible in Wigtownshire and by providing Care Packages for those newly diagnosed and going through treatment for cancer. We also provide holiday respite, care treatments and are in the process of setting up a befriending scheme in 2023.

Just £12 could provide a much-needed Hair Loss to help cancer patients deal with this traumatic side-effect of cancer treatment.

Please help us to help this group, as they work tirelessly to help those in need in our local area.
