Story

Refugees are among the most disenfranchised in society and have no hope of returning to their homeland. The UN is working with countries across the world to bring those in the greatest danger to a new life. Consequently a global movement has sprung up to form small community groups who raise enough money to support a family through their early integration into a local area. The family is checked and prepared by the Home Office prior to their journey. Our group is based at Brownedge St.Mary's in Preston and we had made a good start to fund-raising before 'lockdown ' put everything on hold. Hence this appeal to you for sponsorship. Before the beginning of this year 's Tour de France I will have cycled 218 km which is equivalent to the longest stage from Chauvigny to Sarran Correze (stage 12). Maybe it's worth stating that I'm a 74 year old great grandmother with attitude!.
