I've raised £500 to Hexham Community Centre Playgroup Sensory Den

This page is dedicated to raising funds to refurbish Hexham Community Centre Playgroup's sensory den, which is something that is very important to me.
My little boy, Leo, is 2 and a half and currently attends this local Playgroup. Although he has not yet had a formal diagnosis, Leo shows many typical traits of autism. He is a sweet, happy little boy but plays very differently to the other children in the setting, which at times can lead to him being (unintentionally) destructive and disruptive, with little awareness of the people around him and everyday dangers.
For years, playgroup has had a 'sensory den' - with different lights and textures in a cosy space for them to enjoy. Unfortunately, this den is not suitable for Leo, as he pulls it apart and also puts himself at risk. This means that the den is closed to all other children as well while Leo is at playgroup to keep him safe, which from September will be increased to 5days a week.
It makes me so sad that the children (including Leo) have to miss out on this lovely part of playgroup - but playgroup funds are limited for expensive projects such as these.
So - i am doing my very best to raise funds to pay for a new improved sensory den that is accessible for all of the children at playgroup, including my lovely little boy who i know will get so much enjoyment from it.
This summer ( date to be confirmed) i am going to cut my long waist-length hair to above my shoulders. The hair will be donated to The Little Princess Trust, and all sponsor money will go towards playgroup.
I can't put into words how wonderfully supportive playgroup have been, not only to my two children, but to me. Finding out your child is 'different' is tough, and they have been there to listen to the struggles and rants and they have seen more of my tears than most people ever have! I would love to give something back with your help ❤
Thanks for reading everyone,
