Hello !

So on May 29th 2017 i will be starting my journey to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation center in South Africa. I will be staying at the center volunteering for 16 days.

The Moholoholo Rehab Center is situated just outside the town of Hoedspruit, near the Drakensberg mountains, and is a sanctuary to a wide variety of African Wildlife. The center aims to contribute to the conservation of endangered species and the rehabilitation of injured and poisoned wildlife.

The Moholoholo center is the only facility in Southern Africa to have successfully bred the endangered crowned eagle. They have also successfully trapped and relocated 10-15 leopards per year, and offering this relocation option has prevented local farmers from killing the leopards that they perceive as a problem.

Whilst the Wildlife Rehab Centre provides sanctuary to some predators, they DO NOT breed predators in captivity.
Many animals brought into the centre cannot be released back into a wild environment due to the nature and extent of their injuries.

Whilst at the centre my role will be to care for the sick, injured and orphaned animals. I will also have daily duties of husbandry care -including feeding, excising, cleaning enclosures, preparing food, cutting grass for bedding ect. I will also be able to attend call outs to capture sick or injured animals or animals that need relocated.

To be able to go to the center i need to try and raise money to help with the amazing work that they do for the animals. I have set up this page, so that i can hopefully receive donations to help me take part in this amazing experience.
