HLC Team Fundraising for Kaysey
The Big Bear Nursery at The Healthy Living Centre provides a friendly and caring learning environment to children of all abilities.
Kaysey is a sociable, determined and bright 3 year-old, who brings a smile to nursery every day. She has strong opinions and a love of imaginative play. She is keen to join in with songs, colouring, story time and music. Kaysey is also wheelchair bound as a result of a rare condition known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
The NHS provides minimal support for children with Kaysey’s condition. Her parents work hard and fight her corner every step of the way. Whenever possible, they have paid for resources and activities that ensure that Kaysey can be as independent and comfortable as possible. They do all in their power to ensure that Kaysey has the fun experiences that every child deserves.
The Healthy Living team is lifted each day by Kaysey’s smile and strong-minded approach. They know that in order to get the most out of life, Kaysey needs resources, support and opportunities that are beyond the financial reach of her parents, despite them both working full time. They have decided to accept from friends to hold a number of fundraising activities in order to give a helping hand.
Kaysey’s parents are proud and not used to accepting support. They have depended on each other and shown incredible resilience through Kaysey’s life. They have said that any donation would be allocated to resources that support Kaysey’s safety and independence.
Their main priority is to get a Permobile Koala wheelchair
