    Story

There are only 4 Male Voice Choirs in Cumbria based in Kendal, Barrow, Whitehaven and Dalston.
As a registered charity we fund our work through choir member subscriptions, fees for performances and raffles at concerts. The average age of choir members is late 60's and as members grow older or leave it is difficult to recruit younger members. We would like to host workshops for non singers from different socio, economic and age demographics and to do this we need to pay for venues and if new people join, their uniforms as these are provided free to singers. Singing in a choir provides comradeship, a feeling of self worth and it is quite simply fun. We also want to provide free concerts, but venues nearly always charge. As a non religious group without any ethnic or social boundaries we welcome diversity our pleasure derives from the pleasure we give our audiences. We also raise funds for local and national charities.
