KC Riding has been a rescue centre for horses operating for over 25 years. On average each horse that comes into the centre costs £1500 and has to undergo a general health Vet check, a chiropractor examination, teeth and mouth well being check by dental technician, farrier examination for foot health, and undergo a six month programme where health, mind, body and soul are rehabilitated and healed. Some need re-trusting work with humans and some require physical health treatment. We have assisted literally thousands of horse in this way over the past two decades and we NEVER euthanise a horse which can have a good quality of life, our main aim being to maintain and rehome them into a loving family. We frequently keep geriatric horses or those with specialised medical conditions ourselves as they cost on average £250 per week to maintain.

Our latest rescues are eight ponies brought in from a single person after suffering serious neglect for a long period and all in need of extensive ongoing veterinary operations and medication. The total cost of this continued care for all 8 ponies after examination by our Equine Vet is approximately £10,000 which we are desperate to fund via this page.
