Help Us Keep Our Rescue Clean & Safe – Fundraiser for a Washing Machine & Tumble Dryer

At Karen’s Cat Community, we’ve been rescuing and caring for cats since 2017. In the early days, before we raised awareness and built a following on TikTok, we were funding much of the rescue ourselves—using our own personal items to keep things running. Over time, the constant use of our washing machines, tumble dryers, hoovers, and even our cars has taken its toll.

We rely heavily on washing machines and tumble dryers to keep our rescue hygienic, safe, and free from cross-contamination. With so many cats in our care, we wash countless blankets, beds, and towels every single day. Many of the cats we take in arrive with cat flu, parasites, or other illnesses, meaning we also have to wash our own clothes constantly to prevent the spread of infections between cats and keep ourselves clean while caring for them.

Unfortunately, we’ve always had to rely on second-hand appliances, but they aren’t cost-effective in the long run. These older machines break down quickly, and because they are less energy-efficient, they cost us even more in electricity—something few people think about when it comes to the ongoing care of rescue cats.

💛 We also desperately need machines with a bigger drum size. Our current appliances struggle to handle quilts, blankets, and larger bedding items, which are essential for keeping our rescue cats warm and comfortable. With a larger washing machine and tumble dryer, we’d be able to clean everything more efficiently, reducing the number of loads we need to do—saving time, money, and energy.

💛 We urgently need to raise funds to buy brand-new, energy-efficient appliances with larger barrels and warranties so they can withstand the constant demand of our rescue work.

Without reliable washing and drying facilities, we can’t maintain the hygiene levels needed to keep our sanctuary cats and future rescues safe.
