Story

More than one in five of the UK population (22%) are currently living in poverty (14.5 million people) amongst which 4.3 million are children - and sadly this figure is increasing. Crisis situations and personal circumstances like low income, lack of education, social deprivation and rising rates of poverty is causing uncertainty, hunger, loneliness, poor health and a lack of opportunities.

The K Community Foundation aims to provide continuous support to those suffering the consequences of poverty including vulnerable children in hopes to create a brighter and healthier future for those affected. Please visit www.kcommunityfoundation.org to see the work we are doing.

On the 15th October 2022, a group of volunteers will undertake a hike to the highest point in the Peak District National Park. They will hike to the Kinder Scout summit (636 metres above sea level) by walking a steep path called the Jacob’s Ladder, which hits a maximum gradient of 13% and elevation gain of +1.089 meters. The aim of the hike is to raise funds to help serve communities living in poverty by providing food packs, sleeping bags, clothing, hot meals and basic amenities.

Please dig deep and donate generously for this extremely worthy cause, and help make a difference to the most vulnerable in our community.
