Story
KD Drainage & Asbestos is organising a charity bike ride to raise funds for The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit (Charity Number 292375).
The bike ride will take place on June 18th, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM from Landsend. Our goal is to finish the ride by 10:00 AM on June 19th, 2025.
The team, consisting of four individuals, will need to cover a distance of 386 miles within a 24-hour time frame, including riding through the night. We will conclude the ride at Medway Hospital in Gillingham Kent, where the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit is located.
We have chosen to support the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit due to a personal connection. Matt Theobald, the Director of KD Drainage & Asbestos, has first-hand experience with the unit when his son Jake was born at the hospital in 2007. Jake's health was unstable, and he was quickly transferred to the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit. It was there that they identified life-threatening conditions that, if left untreated, would have resulted in Jake not being with us today.
