Story
More than 6 years later, Syria is still in the middle of a brutal conflict. Known as the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world today, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) reports that 9 million people have been internally displaced in Syria – half of whom are children.
Internally displaced people in Syria face many challenges. Not only are they compelled to poor living conditions, they lack good infrastructure, safety, water, food and access to adequate medical care. Some internally displaced people in Syria, who are caught in the cross fire of the ongoing conflict in the region, have to turn to crime, drugs and even prostitution to feed themselves and whatever is left of their families.
The aim of this crowdfunding page is to raise money for needy people in Syria. From orphaned children to widows to rehabilitating youth, funds raised here will be used to help innocent people who are trying to live a normal life amidst an ongoing war in their country.
The funds raised will be distributed by an organisation in Syria called KEDS (Knowledge and Educational Development for Syria). KEDS conducts fundraising campaigns and individual and household-level research to better understand the socioeconomic context of Syria at present and, more specifically, to better understand the needs of those who are internally displaced. You can follow all KEDS projects on Facebook (@kedsresearch or @MGhaziSy or https://www.facebook.com/muhammad.alghazi.92).

What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
