Story

Gary's Memorial.Fund has been set up to honour a beautiful light that was taken too soon by the trappings of mental Illness & all the suffering and side effects that fractures the minds of the strongest amongst us.
Mental Illness is a silent killer & a stigma in society that needs stomping out.
On 09/10/2009 at 9pm this illness stole a beautiful soul needlessly.
Tragically my son Gary, a 26 year young man with the world in his hands & a lifetime of memories to be made.
Gary never got to make all his dreams come true because his road to wellness was full of obsticles & barriers & not enough strength or help to overcome his darkness.
I relive memorys of that tragic night over & over again & It never left me.
There are so many silent voices who need to be heard, need to be helped & need to know their life matters. I know my angel son would want me to help as many silent voices be heard & given both hope & a hand to help see them shine and soar.
Local charities are feeling the cuts so this fundraiser has been set up in memory of my son with events planned over many months to help raise as much as we can to help those effected or have been effected by Mental illness be it by addiction or homeless or those who just need that hand up that can be hard to find.
Mental illness does not discriminate it lives in the minds of people from all walks of life & ages, from all races or genders & effecting loved ones who feel helpless. Every life should feel valued.
Please help us raise as much as we can to help as many as we can.
Help those people make memories and not become one.
Thank you in advance as every donation counts no matter how small.
If you would like to honour a loved one too, donate in their name. Gary was one light that stopped shining but his memory will live on.
The road to recovery can be a lonely road to travel and it's easy to walk in the shadows of those in need but to walk beside them takes someone special.
I know because i still walk that road daily.πŸ’œ
