On the surface I look healthy, talk healthy, and appear to move around healthily. But I am not. I’m a cancer patient, and I need your health, I mean -help.

I wake up each morning (if I can sleep), grateful for the love that surrounds me. I may put on a brave face and appear to be positive, but I go through the fear, the sadness, and the despair, which are oft-times overwhelming bringing me down to my knees- literally.

I’ve tried nearly everything in my healing, but there’s one thing still to try. It’s been called ‘the miracle drug’ by pre-eminent oncologists for my type of cancer. Pembrolizumab, a new immunotherapy treatment, works on healing the cancer by strengthening the immune system, the very system that keeps my cancer cells from spreading. Every cancer specialist I’ve spoken to has said immunotherapy, has a high response rate, is what I need. Yet it’s unavailable on the NHS. Meanwhile, scans show my cancer to be growing.

We are told the value of a human life is priceless, in this moment in time I am living proof that this is not the case. On one hand there is a breakthrough medication that oncologists are excited about, yet on the other I’m told we can’t afford it.

I have come so close yet am so far away in healing my cancer due to the cost, which haunts me every night. The fact that there’s a solution yet I do not have the financial means to potentially prolong my life.

I may never repay you for potentially saving my life, however I will be endlessly grateful to you, as your time to read this and donation, will keep hopes alive in my heart as well as the smile on a mother’s face who lives in fear day after day that I am approaching my last days.

'You mustn't lose hope' is what my GP said to me at diagnosis, and I now put my hope in your kindness, generosity and love to help me raise the required funds, so that I can get the best treatment as soon as possible.
