Barnaby is a drummer and songwriter and has Down Syndrome and at the start of the Covid 19 pandemic lockdown, Chris was understandably concerned for his son's well-being, living in residential care and at a distance from his family and many friends.

However, thanks to the excellent care and support Barnaby has received and the many activities provided including his ongoing work with The Specialist Music Service, Chris's fears faded as Barnaby took to living life differently (and creatively), staying positive and looking forward to the day when we can all be together again. Although separated and apart, they continued to stay close enjoying time together writing and recording their song.

Their song was written and recorded working online using various iPads, tablets and computers between Chris's home, Barnaby's home and producer, Steve Redfearn's Song Shed recording studio. Barnaby also took on the role of co-producer.

Barnaby wished to write an upbeat, positive song to cheer people up hence the title KEEP SMILING. It was a joyful experience and we decided to make a video for everyone to enjoy.

We now hope to raise a few pounds for our Keep Smiling Project to enable us to facilitate more exciting and inclusive song writing sessions and projects.
