I have volunteered in an animal shelter for about six months. It has been alot of fun but also very sad at the same time. Most of the animals in there just need a loving home where they can grow old. The sad truth is that 80% of the animals in there won't make it out because they are ''unwanted'': there is this preconception that all animals in animal shelters are false and dangerous. As a result these animals never make it out which means that they are put down after a certain amount of time to make room for other animals that are being brought in. For a few months I have been thinking about a way to give these animals new homes before they end up in the system and adventually will be put down...

And I think I found the solution!

I want to start a website where people who want to adopt unwanted animals can sign up. People who can no longer take care of their pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and so on!) can put up an advertisement in which they describe their pet.

Through a matching system we can bring the animals up for adoption and the possible adopters together. This way I can prevent animals from ending up in ''the system'' (shelters) where they most often never get out.. ever again!

Through this crowdfunding I want to raise $30.000. I will use the money to:

- hire a webdeveloper for the website
- start a coorporation with animal shelters (by pointing animal owners who want to get rid of their pet to my website)
- put advertisements in papers
- print flyers which I am going to leave at animal shelters, petstores and so on.
