    Story

We know what a huge disappointment it is that this key community event has been cancelled for a second year. It was not an easy decision. However, the Committee were unanimous in feeling that it would be impossible to conduct the Big Breakfast, in the way which everyone enjoys, whilst abiding by all of the most recent Covid guidance. Everybody loves sitting and chatting, meeting friends and new faces over a delicious breakfast cooked by our team in a crowded kitchen and delivered by our local children and young people - whilst another large team is washing up; so many of these things would pose huge problems this year.

Last year, the community rallied to support our local groups and chosen charities through a Big Breakfast Just Giving page and other means of donation. In total, an amazing £2,800 was raised! People were so very generous and all of the money raised was distributed to delighted recipients whose sources of income were very restricted in 2020.

We are asking you if you would be kind enough to support our fundraising again this year. We know that that this is a very big ask, but we are desperately keen to ensure the continued success of those important village groups and chosen charities which are close to all of our hearts. We hope that the community will, once again, be prepared to help out, despite the absence of the benefit of a communal breakfast sit down in the Village Hall. Every penny that you donate will help and support our community groups and chosen charities to thrive and grow.

Perhaps, instead of simply making a donation you might join with family or close friends to share a breakfast together and donate something to the Big Breakfast fund, or arrange a breakfast online with more distant friends and family? We would love to hear from you about what you choose to do on KeintonBigBreakfast@gmail.com and we so look forward to being able to gather safely together as soon as we can.

Thank you for anything you feel able to do!
