I've raised £500 to bail me out in aid of the Northern Ireland Kidney Fund - in memory of Denis McNeill

This year, I am taking part in the Caring Caretaker, David Boyle MBE's final charity endeavour, the 2023 Jail and Bail, to raise funds for the Northern Ireland Kidney Research Fund in memory of Davy's friend and mine, Denis McNeill.
On Saturday 21st January, after a three year wait, Denis received the news that he had been selected to receive a kidney transplant. Sadly, Denis passed away a few weeks later on 13th February 2023.
Back in 2019, when I was just 18, after years of his own radio experience, Denis gave me an opportunity which outlined the future of my career, my first ever radio show in Coleraine. This was an opportunity that I will be forever grateful for and an experience, working alongside Denis in a radio studio, that I will never forget.
Davy Boyle through the years has been recognised for his charity work, including his annual sit out in Coleraine, and a walk to Cork amongst other events. He has raised so much money for various charities, and his work continues with one final event in memory of his good friend and a man who I considered to be a mentor.
In Denis' memory, myself and a team of other volunteers were 'arrested,' with bail set at £500 for this fantastic charity, a charity that was of significance to Denis and his family. Although the bail is set at £500, I'm hoping that we can go above and beyond for this charity, in memory of an absolute gentleman.
All money raised will go to the NI Kidney Research Fund via David Boyle MBE, in what we hope to be his biggest cheque donated to charity yet.
