VDS FED was created 07/07/2025. However, its roots go back originally to the first Covid-19 lockdown, when Volunteer Driver Service started delivering emergency food boxes until restrictions were lifted. Then again 19/09/2022, when Mike Hampton and Keith Davies met to explore whether it was possible to deliver food directly to the door of those facing immediate food crisis.

VDS FED provides information alongside the one-off food it delivers, signposting people in crisis towards longer-term assistance.

If you are based in Banbury or nearby (5-mile radius of Banbury Cross) Volunteer Driver Service, Food Emergency Delivery (VDS FED) will deliver emergency food boxes to your door.
