Princess Kaycee is currently fighting an awful disease called Battens Disease. It's a rare neurological disease, it's a terminal condition that typically begins in childhood. Onset of symptoms is usually between five and ten years of age. It's a debilitating illness, symptoms include, visual impairment resulting in blindness, complex epilepsy, involuntary muscle spasms, severe seizures, decline of speech, language and swallowing skills, and deterioration of motor skills that result in the loss of mobility.

Currently there is no cure for this form of disease, therefore specialist symptom management and therapy is essential to assist in maintaining a good quality of life for children and their families, as holistic support for families is extremely important throughout their journey.

There are extremely limited funds available, denying this little girl a chance for what we all want. A chance to live a happy, pain free life. There's not enough research, not enough by way of treatment, not enough by way of support. And she, and all the other children suffering with this, needs awareness raised to get this further down the line. No child should have to suffer this.
