Story

This is Keith and Andrea's story.
You will know that throughout 2017 we fought hard together to beat the bowel cancer that Keith was diagnosed with in April 2017. The professionalism and support we received from various medical teams was outstanding. On the 19 May 2017 Keith had major keyhole surgery to remove 5 malignant tumours. Following this was a lengthy treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. On the 11 December 2017 Keith rang the bell at The Christie to signify the end of his treatment. Andrea was with Keith at every stage. We both take the view that Mr Chris Smart and his surgical team at Macclesfield Hospital saved Keiths life whilst the MacMillan team renewed it and provided the support to us both throughout an extraordinarily challenging period. We both feel enormous gratitude toward these medical professionals.
There is also another team we feel privileged to have had support from. That team is you, our family and friends. The love, compassion, friendship and humanity that you showered on us both made a massive difference. We are truly humbled. Many of you will be honouring us in celebrating our marriage with us on the 29 September 2018 at the Clonter Opera. You would honour us further by donating the cost of your wedding present to this cause. This truly would be the best gift of all. We have all we need and most importantly we have our life together.
The money raised will go first towards much needed surgical equipment at Macclesfield Hospital (cost circa £2,000) and secondly to MacMillan Support. This is our way of saying thank you. Please simply donate the amount you would normally spend on a wedding gift in the knowledge that you will have contributed to saving the life of a cancer victim, helped fund their treatment back to full health and provided the mechanism to support their loved ones.
THANK YOU
Keith and Andrea xx
