Stuart is a 41 year old homeless guy who came in to our lives by chance, he was in the Met police for 4 years with 3 daughters. unfortunately his marrige broke down, his children moved to australia and unfortunately he had a real run of bad luck and became homeless. He has travelled from city to city on a push bike (Glasgow to norwich) trying to find that fresh start but has never been succsesfull... he doesnt drink, smoke take drugs, after a chance meeting last easter he has been on our minds. Anazingly my husband caught up with him about 3 weeks ago , Stuart was telling him how he had been urinated on, beaten up and run over within the last 2 weeks. Stuart wouldnt hurt a fly he just laid down and took the beatings as he felt he deserved it. After the chance meeting peter (my husband) has seen him every other day we have cooked for him, washed his clothes, purchased him new clothes etc etc... pete went to meet him on tuesday night to find that he was not there... after an hour of searching for him pete found him collapsed, he called an ambulance he was rushed to hospital to find that he had hypethermia, a blood clot on his lung, a severe infection and he hadnt had any medication for 6 weeks for his diabities. He is now getting the help he needs in hospital, pete is going up everyday and he is feeling safe and warm. What i am asking for is a little help towards helping him find his way again, social services are involved and if we can help him get a little flat we can kit it out get him get some nice clothes and maybe a little phone so he can keep on touch with people to make him feel himself again.
