Story
Don't bring me flowers now that I am gone, for they look pretty now, but rot and die a few days later.
Julian and I loved to walk together in parks, feed the ducks, and often found ourselves sitting on benches put there by families of departed Souls, we'd spare a thought for those names carved out on the metal plaques and offer thanks for the provision of somewhere to sit. And so the world turns and I intend to be the name on one of those plaques.
And so rather than flowers that, let's face it, sit around the cemetery and rot along with its inhabitants, I'd like to propose that instead you put that money towards something more everlasting, an item of function, a provision of seating in an area of beauty so that many human and animal may enjoy the view from Kelly's bench.
I hope you don't find this request too cheeky.
I've chosen spots that I loved, places of beauty that captured my heart, for old memories to be recaptured and new ones to be made. Once the bench / benches (depending I guess upon you guys) are in place Julian will let you know their locations should you wish to come visit me there.
I was a pretty good sales woman at one point, some of you know I wrote and helped write sales training material that hundreds of thousands of people used. I was often told I could sell ice to the Eskimos - although why they'd need it is beyond me (That's a joke by the way... just incase you’re not acquainted with my humour)- but I was always shit at asking for things for me, for selling my cause or need, and quite frankly asking for help was something I was never any good at. The times I did it was always very important, I think this is one of those times. Plus look on the bright side - I won't ever ask you again... 😀
The amount doesn't matter: even a couple of pounds could really make a difference . Thank you so much.
