Story
Taking part in the Great North Run 2018 to raise funds towards Kierans Legacy charity.
Kieran had a form of bone cancer called Ewings Sarcoma from a young age, which saw him initially have his leg amputated beneath the knee. He went on to battle further relapses which in the end sadly took his young life. Kieran was 18 when he sadly passed away.
Kieran was an amazing young athlete who did not let his amputation get in the way of achievement in his sprinting, and was constantly trying to raise awareness of this not so uncommon cancer and the lack of research in to it. Even when he was given his terminal diagnosis, he upped his determination of awareness. Instead of feeling sorry for himself at this time, he focused on fund raising with the view of raising enough money to pay for a researcher for a year to look in to Ewings Sarcoma. His words were that he didn‘t want any other families to go through what him and his family had to go through. Always thinking about others.
Please help if you can as every little bit helps. So far Kierans legacy has raised over £18,000.. Hopefully we can get Kierans wish for a researcher. Such an inspiration to all.
Thank you
