Story

My name is Kelly and I live on Station Road, Ilminster and in the early hours of 21st Oct 2021 parts of our town flooded, including homes on Station Road, Holway House Park, Home Farm Park and Green Lane, that we know of.
I was incredibly lucky to have had minimal damage but many unfortunate tenants and homeowners, most without flood damage cover on their home insurance due to their location, have lost so much, therefore the clean up operation is not a given in terms of monetary aide in the first instance.
As a community we can offer help in the form of providing a shoulder and food parcels but at some point we have to acknowledge that these flood victims, some of whom are elderly and vulnerable, need money to appoint professionals to carry out the gutting of their properties and subsequently the rebuilding of them.
My hope, in starting this page, is to gather names of those in need and to distribute monies to people in order of severity and/or vulnerability, in order to start the healing process.
With everyone's help all who need it will be supported and cared for and with our combined love for our fellows we will restore all that is lost.
Any money, no matter how small, will help someone so greatly.
Thank you in advance.
