    Story

I am looking at raising funds for a team of lecturers from the UK to volunteer teaching Adult and Paediatric Basic Life support to the Kasoa community in Ghana. This will involve teaching life saving skills such as how to initiate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the recovery position, choking and anaphylaxis. The Kasoa community needs Automated External Defibrillators (AED). Last year August 2018 I taught these skills to student nurses , in the community in Kasoa,Ghana. This year I want to teach Basic Life Support to primary and secondary school aged children.

The purpose of the crowd funding is to raise money to take a team of nurse lecturers and purchase much needed equipment to raise an awareness of the signs and symptoms of a Myocardial infarction (heart attack) for student nurses and the community to be able to initate CPR for people who go into cardiac arrest. This will hopefully increase the survival rate of individuals and the wider community to be able to use the A.E.D and improve the chain of survival.

Thank you for great support for this cause. The current funds are being used for a air ticket for a Midwifery Lecturer to help teach Midwifery medical emergencies for the project in August 2019. Really appreciate all the support.
