My daughter has autism and during the day I work with adults with learning disabilities.

Over the last few years it has become more and more apparent that gaps need to be closed for individuals with communication difficulties and my daughter is making it her mission to help to close those gaps to promote social inclusion for all.

She was supported to create a Facebook page where she could demonstrate the use of makaton which is a form of sign language. She creates videos using the signs to interpret songs. This has inspired us to record a song and ask nationally recognised companies to join us in raising awareness. We are in the final stages of creating our video now and we are so excited.

She has also said that she wanted to help to raise some money to fund a sensory garden at her school so she came up with the fabulous idea of a relay ride from Lands End to John o Groats.

The ride is due to leave Lands End on 31st of this month and Caitlin will be starting the ride off herself!
