    Story

    Dear friends,

Thanks to your support in retaining your tickets to transfer to 2021, the future of Kendal Calling is secure and we are in a good place to continue planning for the party of a lifetime next July. We are proud to call you, our family, the most supportive and loyal around. Thank you – we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Many have asked about further ways people can help the festival. Well, we are pleased to say we are in a ‘good’ place. The festival will rise again – we are safe! Unfortunately, others are less so.

Each year our collective actions in the fields raise a great sum of money for a range of good causes important to the festival. North West Air Ambulance. Alder Hey Children’s Charity. Guide Dogs for the Blind. Their fundraising events are cancelled, their funding drying up up. Hospice at Home, whose sunflowers brighten our fields and whose palliative care makes an incredible difference. St Johns Ambulance, who look after us each year in the fields and who are currently supporting the NHS, last week warned that they could run our of money in the next four months without support. Together they work tirelessly to make a wonderful difference to the health of our region and continue to operate in our communities each and every day, yet right now they are in dire straits.

Many have asked if we can sell merchandise to raise further funds to aid the festival and this is most heart warming. Yes, we can – but we don’t need these funds as much as others do.

With this in mind we are setting ourselves, and you, a challenge – to support the forgotten charities of the pandemic and who play such an important role in the North. By forming the Kendal Calling Family Foundation, we are excited to be able to play a part in supporting the selfless local groups and charities who work so hard – both this summer and in many other summers to come. To that end, we’ve got some very special merchandise treats as a huge ‘thank you’ to get you excited.

But that’s not all! We are proud to announce that the foundation will also play home to our very own fan club (Kendal Calling Family FC) which as a world first for a festival is a very thrilling venture. Thank you to Gemma Banks who submitted this idea via hello@kendalcalling.com – we will be releasing the fan club memberships soon.

    With much love,

Andy, Ben & The KC Team x
