Story

A year after her birth, Valentina was diagnosed with a heart problem called Pulmonary Atresia with Ventricular Septal defect.

Doctors in Glasgow recommended “end of life” care. However, doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London offered hope with a more positive hopeful course of action.

This has meant trips to London and Valentina has successfully come through the first stages of assessment and treatment. Although this treatment is given on the NHS the family have had to raise the costs of travel and accommodation with more being needed for future visits to Great Ormond Street.

The family have also started a charity to raise money for children with similar heart problems. By sponsoring Lian Hay & Ken Coulter running in the Glasgow 10k on the 1st October 2017 you will be helping Valentina and other children.Lian and Ken know Valentina, and her mum Suzanne, though ARK Out of School Care and Messy Church at Rutherglen Baptist Community Church
