Sheldon's Treasure
St Giles' Church, Sheldon dates from 1291 but the current building is mostly 14th century; it is one of only four Mediaeval churches in Birmingham. The church building was restored in 1867 by Slater and Carpenter. The heating system may not date from that year but it is certainly antique and, besides being very expensive to run, it is inadequate in the cold weather. In addition to parish worship, St Giles' is a loved and favoured venue for baptisms, marriages and funerals. Help warm the heart of Sheldon by donating, liking and sharing this post. Every little helps!
