Story
Kenny`s Defibrillator Fund
Unfortunately, in February of this year, whilst simply out walking my dog one early Saturday, I witnessed a couple out too enjoying an early morning dog walk but whose life quickly changed forever as Steve fell to the ground in full Cardiac Arrest.
With the help of Julie Carruthers, a nurse who lived nearby, the Lockerbie community as always came to the rescue, including the most important act of fetching the Defibrillator from Lockerbie Ice Rink. After performing CPR for 20 minutes and 2 shocks from the Defibrillator, emergency service arrived and Steve was safely transferred to their care, fortunately after major surgery Steve has survived and now lives to tell the tale of his life changing event.
The Lockerbie Community and Defibrillator saved Steves life, and his employers kindly have gifted Lockerbie a new defibrillator which is proudly situated on the wall of D&W Ironmongery at the bottom side of the town.
We would like to grow on this and site another Defibrillator at this side of the town as without doubt, it saved Steve’s life.
Lockerbie is an amazing Community who always come together, please if you can help in any way donate to this page, we honestly never know when we might need this amazing lifesaving piece of equipment, it really does save lives.
