Friends of Pontefract and parkrun want to install a park bench at "Ken's Corner" in memory of Ken Bingley, a stalwart of Pontefract parkrun. Ken sadly passed away in January and parkrunners wish to celebrate his contribution to parkrun. He ran the 5k course 112 times and volunteered 228 times, marshalling at "Ken's Corner" by the playground. The Council have given permission for the bench and Friends of Pontefract Park will purchase the bench and arrange installation. Donations towards the cost will be welcome and surplus funds will be used by Friends of Pontefract Park towards other improvements to the Park. Help us commemorate Ken's enthusiasm for running and Pontefract parkrun in particular.
