#lastpole now set for feb 2021

but im off in May to do some training- for this i need funding. Im counting polar bears in an expedition around svalbard and spitzbergen collecting data on polarbear numbers. It will be cold- -20 but in 24 hour sunlight.

This is a true world first, like Shakletons first expedition to the pole, we plan on trekking to the last unreached pole. The centre of the Arctic ocean. Gathering accurate data on polar bear numbers, pollution levels and true ice thickness. The scientific community require feet/skis on the ground to accurately measure ice thickness - polar ice is like a window on the globes health and it will give us an indication of what is happening to our world.

Ice warrior let by Jim McNeil - the world renowned Arctic expert is taking a group of 28 dedicated explorers to gather the data. People from all echelons of society - normal people- like me- traveliing 800 miles in temperatures dropping well below -50c.

Lastpole ‘s patron is none other than Shackletons granddaughter- and we plan on making this a proud salute to the family and their expeditions.

Help me to get on this expedition, I need some specialist training, some top equipment and significant donations to get this expedition started.

As a teacher I plan to come back and visit schools, inspire and entertain and educate them. Teach them about our world, its health and they might be able to help the recovery of our hone. Hopefully our research will help us improve the health of the globe for future generations.

Please don‘t be fooled- this is no adventure holiday- this is a bonafide arctic expedition, there is no safety net- I/we are that net. Polar bears will be hunting us, the mental and physical stress will be significant. It’s so cold my breath in the tent will rise and freeze and then drop like snow. So snow will fall in the tents. Help me, help us!!

We will be walking 800 miles gathering data along the way at determined intervals, logging a cross section of the arctic sea. Something never achieved before. Our insight will lead to address the globes health, our data will go to the very top, and used to model weather patterns, ocean levels and pollution levels. We will walk where no one has, see Polar bears that no one knew existed, perhaps even new species .... Help me.
