Story
hello; I am Kerry, I am a 1st year paediatric nursing student. I have been offered an amazing opportunity to work in a paediatric hospital in Mbarara, located in Uganda for three weeks. As part of my Degree in paediatric nursing. This is a once in a life time opportunity, and I'm hoping it will provide me with a chance to compare how children are treated in Uganda hospitals as against hospitals in the UK. I am hoping that they will be able to teach me different distraction techniques so that I can use them in my future practice, and I am hopeful in some way I can make a difference to a child's life while I am there.
The costs involved include:
£600 airfare
£50 accommodation
£200 immunisations
£40 visa
£200 travel from airport to Mbarara
