Story
I am raising funds to support projects at the Kokrobite Chiltern Centre in Ghana. Kokrobite is a small fishing village on the coast, where many families can't afford to send their children to school. The centre provides free learning resources for the children and sponsors some children so they can attend school.
I am raising money to help build a new classroom (from empty plastic water bottles), mosquito net frames, a water hole to provide fresh water for the village and to pay for solar panels to generate electricity for the learning centre.
I visited Kokrobite in February this year along with my team mates, where we raised an incredible amount of money to go and helped to build a football pitch and stand for the children and the locals as they love to play football over there. We were also fortunate enough to go to school with the children where we helped to teach them English, Maths & reading. We also managed to take a lot of donated gifts over. We lived just as they live for 11 days and it was the biggest challange I've ever come across in my life so far. Seeing how they live compared to how we live. Most of the children being without there families and just the lack of everything they have in a normal day to day life compared to what we have. The smiles on there faces were priceless, something I'll never forget. It opened my eyes up and made me realise just how fortunate we are.
I am fortunate enough to Visit Kokrobite again in May 2017 to help with the projects above.
I will be helping friends and family out around the house eg, washing cars, painting, gardening, doing tip runs etc and I will be taking part in 'The battle of Landsdown' in September with some of my team mates to help me on fundraising way.
Anything you can spare to this amazing opportunity I have ahead of me would be great fully received.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
