Story
Claire had a liver transplant at the age of six and lived a full and happy life for many years. She was poorly again as an adult and fought cancer on more than one occasion. She is now suffering with multi organ failure and a life limiting condition. Claire is now 41 years old and is currently in hospital at the Royal Free where they will not let her home which means her family have to travel there from Cheshunt and she is going to spend some time there, maybe her last days. Her parents are of old age and disabled which means they have to get a taxi/cab to see her which is costing them £100 each time and this is without food and drink while they are there. Her whole family are physically and mentally drained.
Claire is a childhood friend since I moved to the area when I was 8 years old. We lived opposite each other so see each other everyday, and our parents still live there now. This would mean so much to the family and myself. I feel helpless that there is nothing anyone can do but if we can raise money to help her family see her then I know this is one thing that can help them along the way. Nobody wants to see their child in this way and they don’t know how long they have to spend with her. Anything you can donate no matter how small will be a big help to the family. Please help me help the Mitham family spend the time with Claire that she deserves.
