    Story

Jackson is 15 and lives in Dumfries with his Mum, Dad, 5 year old Sister Jasmine & his Aunt Erica. Jackson was born with a rare genetic condition called Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome. This condition affects chromosome 4 where the tip of the chromosome is missing. More info can be found by following this link: http://whs4pminus.co.uk

Everyday life is full of both emotional & physical struggles pain, hospital admissions, vomiting, medication, worry, anxiety, sleep deprivation the list goes on. More recently Jackson has become so unwell that his body no longer tolerates food or liquids and he is therefore fed exclusively by tube, his muscle strength has gone meaning he is now mainly reliant on a wheelchair, he has become more withdrawn & needs 24 hour care.

This young lad was once so lively & full of beans but has become withdrawn & lacking the energy to get through the day, it also hurts to see his family having to now live their life like this is the 'norm'.
This family are the most selfless family we know. As well as holding down a job they provide round the clock care and only ever expect help when there is a specialist medical need.

In order for Jackson to have a chance & quality of life again he requires numerous tests to be carried out under a General Anaesthetic. Based upon the result of these tests, the hope is to give Jackson a better quality of life, surgery. However, the waiting list is endless and it just isn't something that can wait so we are looking at Private Health Care and alternative therapy.

We can not see this family suffer anymore and we have decided to take action in order to raise the funds required as soon as possible.

Our 1st event will be a sponsored walk within the Crichton Grounds, Dumfries on Sun 23rd April 17 @ 10am followed by soup and sandwiches and a prize bingo at the Crichton Golf Club.

Sponsor forms & more information on getting involved can be obtained from his Facebook page 'Jackson's Fight'.
