Story
Hello everyone.
This a big step for me to speak out about the trauma I faced and how much this charity (rsvp) rape and sexual volience project mean to me. 19 years ago I faced a situation I wouldnt wish upon anyone and faced Alot of this allow. I got to the point I become isolated and very depressed where at times I didn't think I could continue to be a good mum or at times thought I wasn't worth living . I was in a dark place and found trusting hard and didn't know where to turn too. This is where rsvp come into my life and started supporting me in my situation and without them things would of been alot worst for me and my children. There were my life line and supported emotionally and practically. This is also where I was encouraged with my running journey, the ceo from rsvp encouraged me to give it ago and here I am running now for Bournville Harriers and enjoying my fitness journey.
This as helped regain confidence and managing to deal with the trauma I experienced. Which still as it moments but having the right support I gained ways of dealing with the tough days.
As we all know this virus as effected alot of charities already and RSVP is one of them. There counselling service is already massive and waiting times were over 15 months before the virus and that as increased now.
This is where I would like to give back to rsvp with your help :)
I am currently working towards running better and more miles since my operation in January and already ran 5k and 10k goal since.
BUT.....
I would like to challenge myself to run 50 miles in a month for RSVP so they can continue to work with women and men and children who have been subjected to sexual abuse .
So starting from June until July, and would like to raise 2 pounds for each mile I achieve.
Thank you
Kerry
