Story
We at Portsmouth Spurs Supporters Club are looking to help raise money for one of our members Adrian who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease by doing a twenty mile walk from Southampton’s football ground at St Mary’s to Portsmouth football ground at Fratton Park on Saturday 3rd October.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is such an awful disease that destroys the nerve cells responsible for controlling the voluntary muscles in walking, speaking, swallowing and breathing. There is no cure for it and heartbreakingly, it is usually life shortening.
It usually affects people over the age of 50 but Adrian was only 47 when he was diagnosed with MND. In just two short years, from being a fit sportsman, Adrian now has to rely on a wheelchair to assist him.
We would like to do something at Portsmouth Spurs to help Adrian and his family with this terrible disease and would be very grateful for any donations, even if everyone who read this message gave just £1 it would help make such a difference to Adrian and his family.
UPDATE (15/08/2026): Thank you so much to everyone that has donated so far. We have raised an incredible amount of nearly £1,000. THANK YOU EVERYONE!, but please do donate if you can so we can raise as much money for Adrian and his family that we can for our walk in six weeks.
Thank you for reading.
