I'm raising £1000 to Support the Mountbatten Hospice and Ex Saints players chosen charity’s

Story

We are raising money in loving memory of our dad, Kevin Roe, who passed away in September after bravely facing prostate cancer. Kevin was cared for with extraordinary compassion by Mountbatten Hospice, whose support brought comfort and dignity to him and to all of us during his final weeks. We will always be grateful for the kindness they showed.

To honour Kevin’s life, we’re hosting a charity football match at Sholing FC on the 1st May 2026 starting at 5:00 PM for a 6:30 PM kick off, joined by former Southampton FC players, a tribute that couldn’t be more fitting. Football was at the heart of Kevin’s life. He was a proud supporter of both Sholing FC and Southampton FC, and at one point even worked as a coach driver for the Saints first team, a job he absolutely loved.

Kevin was the kind of man who brought warmth, humour, and loyalty wherever he went. Football wasn’t just a sport to him, it was community, passion, and joy. This match is our way of celebrating that spirit while raising vital funds for the hospice that cared for him so well.

Every donation, big or small, helps Mountbatten continue their incredible work for families like ours as well as the ex Saints chosen charity’s for the event. Thank you for supporting us, and for helping keep Kevin’s memory alive in a way he would have truly loved.

We will add the website for ticket sales in due course.
