Story

On 29th October 2021, Kevin Cross was taken by an aggressive and rare brain cancer known as Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM4). There is no cure for this cancer and there is no reason why Kevin suffered this type of cancer. It can happen to anyone, Kevin did not have any underlying health conditions. He passed a full medical to take a role in China, in August 2020, where he collapsed, in December 2020, in a restaurant and was diagnosed with GBM4. There were no signs he had cancer.
He was airlifted from China to Newcastle upon Tyne and a Learjet 45 landing in January 2021 was thought to be a new player for Newcastle United, however, sadly it was a seriously ill young lad.

He died aged 45.

We are raising money for Marie Curie, the angels of Elswick who looked after him until his last breath. If the statistics are right then 1 in 2 will encounter cancer and you may need Marie Curie.

We are raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity, the only thing to fight a pure chance cancer is to find a cure. There is no lifestyle, hereditary nor any causal link to this type of cancer. It strikes indiscriminately. It does not care how old, how healthy, how loved, how kind you were. One cell changes in the brain and it grows at a staggering pace. Kevin lasted 10 months.

His wife, parents and family would like to set up a charity in his name where each year around this time we remember him, celebrate his life, leave memories for his children and help other families who find themselves in this brutal situation.

Time will pass, life will return to normal, a 40 year old widow, a 9 year old daughter, a 4 year old son, parents who buried their children, friends who will never laugh again together will be amongst so many people that read this and have lost a loved one.

Kevin was well known in the construction industry, the oil and gas industry and his home town.

Please help Marie Curie.
Please help The Brain Tumour Charity.

Please help us to help others by giving as much as you can.
